Bessie took us for a day out in the big city of Madison, Wisconsin. We had lunch at our long lost Pedro’s Mexican Restaurant and enjoyed fresh hot tortillas along with enchiladas. Afterwards, we made a trip downtown to browse through the shops. Our favorite was Pop Deluxe with all of its fun and unique goodies. Brian brought home a wonderful Samurai sword umbrella.
The main event of the day was Ella’s Deli & Ice Cream Parlor. If you’ve never been and you’re in the area, this is a MUST visit. You’ll know you’re there when you see the grand carousel outside, which is actually covered in the winter – so sad. Ella’s brings out the child in all of us with its menagerie of one-of-a-kind animated displays, themed tables and extensive dessert menu. There’s a surprise in every corner of this restaurant! I tried the Grilled Pound Cake with Hot Fudge. It was delicious, filling and a huge portion – meal in itself! View photos…
Also available, a video of one of the animation displays…the juggling clowns! (With new music, fyi)
