Bessie outside the Palermo's beautiful factory modeled after a 16th Century Sicilian villa called "Villa Le Volte".
Inside the cafe, calzones and pizza slices for sale.
Even some delicious looking desserts for afterwards.
More on those desserts. I love dessert!
Not hungry, take some home!
We're not here for lunch... yet. We're starting with a tour.
And the tour is over, now to the gift shop! We couldn't take photos. Sorry. A very dedicated employee told us the story of Palermo's and its inner workings as we watched a video. After, we were able to watch the pizzas being made from above.
The $5 tour, though not very upclose and personal, does end with a delicious slice of pizza. And now we know that our pepperonis weren't just regular pepperonis, but dancing pepperonis!
The little sisters. They heard about our adventure and showed up, too.
There's the pizza! It's pretty good.
Jenni was upset at having ended up with all the leftovers.
They even have t-shirts, if that's your thing.
What to do next on a rainy December day in Wisconsin? To the Domes! The Mitchell Park Domes to be specific, in case you're not familiar with the area. Everyone around here knows just what you mean when you say "the Domes".
In case you're still confused, the Domes are giant greenhouses full of plants. For Christmas, the one dome was covered in pointsettias and Christmas paraphenalia.
The second dome we visited was full of dessert plants. I don't know what anything is. Don't ask. I'm just the photographer.
Our final dome was the tropics. It was quite nice after being in all the cold outdoors.
Hungry again? Yes! Let's head to our next advernture at the Comet Cafe.
I came for the Pie. Everyone else had one of those delicious looking cupcakes.
The dessert menu.
Hot cocoa for Jenny. Where's my pie?
A Chocolate Cupcake? Tempt me not! I must have pie!
Oh pie! You're so delicious! Cherry with cobbler topping and lovely vanilla ice cream from the Purple Door Creamery.
Zipping past the lights on our way to our next adventure.
Our final stop - the Rosebud Cinema. It was an interesting theatre experience with couches to sit on and fried cheese delivered to your table in the middle of the film. We saw that new Sherlock Holmes movie.
