These are just a few of the words created to spruce up a long, long trip. Use them as you will and share them if you’ve got some new ones. Thanks!
Panda – A police car. I believe I got it from a book. It refers to the black-white-black motif of many police vehicles. A polite alternative to any other nicknames that could be viewed as offensive.*
Albino Panda – An unmarked police car.
Baby Panda – A motorcycle cop.
Munching Panda – A police car with someone pulled over.
Feeding Frenzy – A speed trap involving a great number of Pandas and the occasional Albino Panda.
Mating Season – Two Pandas talking along side each other.
Bait – A speed demon you let pass to hopefully draw the attention of any awaiting police vehicles.
Parcheesi – When two cars alongside each other are going the same speed, thus blocking any chance of passing. From the board game of the same name, when two pawns block any other from moving forward.
Square Dancing – Car A passes Car B and pulls in front of Car B. Car B decides to pass Car A and pulls in front. They continue to dance around each other until one of them gives up.
Evil Twin – A MINI, just like your MINI, but with the opposite color roof.
*Once upon a time, I went on a date with a cop. My friends, my date and I were going to a party in the cop’s personal vehicle. One friend didn’t know the profession of my date. When she saw a police car she made references to it being a pig and, to our horror, the accompanying noises. Needless to say, my date got annoyed. He hand cuffed her to the car. I didn’t date him much after that.
